Ramblings

It's been a long time since I've posted. A very long time. I've thought about it, then I would put it aside. What would I blog about--Running? School? Sports How much I dislike spring? My summer plans? Tetris? I have decided to simply ramble. A lot of things have happened since I've last posted.
At the baseball game.

Baseball
I finally watched a Topper Baseball game for longer than 15 minutes. It was interesting. Par the usual, I thought I knew enough about the sport to be able to cheer for my team. So, when one of the Topper baseball players bunted the ball, I shouted "Great punt!" I honestly thought bunting was punting. I got some strange stares and laughs from the other fans in the stands. Apparently, you punt the football and you bunt the baseball. Go figure. Anyway, I left that game with some vital information that I can use on a daily basis.

Spring
I really do dislike Spring. It deceives you. The weather is perfect, but I'm allergic to nature.  I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to all trees and grass. Anyway, when Spring dawned upon Blue Mountain College, I would sit outside and just let the world go by. I just made sure to take my
Claritin twice daily. This went on for about two weeks until the mosquitos came out. Yay.

Running
Track season is over. I ended my sophomore career with a second place finish at the conference championship. I'm very happy about this. Now, I'm training for the summer. Well, I'm cross training. This means I'm not running, but I am swimming and biking. I am a bit injured, so until my foot feels better, I'm going to avoid running. By the time the summer is over, I'm going to be an amazing swimmer.
I kind of miss running, though. I really enjoy it. However, I'll get back to it. There's a season for everything, and God will use this time of rest to help me draw closer to Him (Romans 8:29)

Tetris and Spanish
I have decided to embrace my inner geek. While at school, my workload slowly dwindled as I approached the end of the semester. I had a good bit of time on my hands, so I took up playing Tetris. Some would call it a time waster, and I agree with them. However, there's something really satisfying about lining up multi-colored blocks and making the
m disappear. It's really addicting. I'll quit playing it tomorrow. Honest.
My parents got to come to my second track meet
I am also learning Spanish and French. I have friends that speak Spanish and French, and I really want to communicate with them. I told one of my friends before our math final "tu es muy intelligente." She thanked me.
I go to a Mexican restaurant in Ripley, and the waiter quit speaking to me in English about a month or so ago. I ordered my food in Spanish once or twice, and that kind of took the cake. Unfortunately, I wanted to order hard tacos a few weeks ago, and I did not know how to say hard. So, I said "Yo quiero dos hard tacos con carne." He knew what I meant.

Translation: "I want hard tacos with beef"

Anyway, by the time I get back to school, I will be mildly trilingual.

Finals Week
Finals week is my favorite week of the semester because I have almost nothing to do. I am done with track and cross country and I finished all of my major assignments. I can do study groups because I don't have anything to study. Fun times.

Translation: I go to study groups to goof off and hang out--not study.

Anyway, finals week was fun, but my last final was really tough. It was a Calculus 4 final, and I was tired. I run out of steam by the end of the semester. I just wanted to go to bed.
After my last final, I got pretty sick. I didn't know if it was a mixture of the cucumbers and coffee that I consumed that day, or if it is was rotten food, but something had my stomach going haywire.
After going to Mi Pueblo to hang out with friends and eating half of my food, I got my electric blanket from the car and went to bed at 9:49pm.
I didn't have the flu, pneumonia, or cancer--my stomach just felt terrible.
A couple of days after I got home,  I felt better. God is kind. Turns out, an extremely busy semester has a way of wearing you down and leaving you bedridden. My mom explained to me that it was stress. I didn't know stress made you sick. Never again.

This period of my life has been a blast. I have met so many new people and done many cool things. Now, I must rest and get ready for the next wild adventure.
In conclusion, it's been a wonderful year, and I'm glad to be home.

Goodnight!
